Using DVD boot to eval Ubuntu - will not retain settings

Using DVD boot to eval Ubuntu - will not retain settings

I have a CPU with no hard drive. The DVD boots but all plugins I install
are gone on reboot. Not a big surprise --but-- Can UbuntuOne (drive in the
sky) be used to solve this problem?
